Dessert heaven

Look what I was lucky enough to find under the Christmas tree last week! The cookbook of the superstar London bakery that’s famous for being Gwyneth Paltrow’s favourite place to buy brownies and cupcakes. The bakery opened on Portobello Road in 2004, selling American-style treats such as cheesecake brownies, pecan pie, marshmallow cupcakes and peanut butter cookies. The treats look amazing enough on their own but combined with gorgeous styling and photography, the result is soooo PRETTY! Here are some goodies I can’t wait to make…

Raspberry cheesecake brownies.

Vanilla cupcakes.

Marshmallow cupcakes (!)

Chocolate brownies.

Lavender cupcakes.

Peanut butter cookies!

This cookbook is from Ariel bookshop in Paddington, but you can buy it online here.

This looks awesome – I want it!!
Could you possibly tell me if the measures are given in cups? We weigh in grammes here and I still don’t have any measuring cups. (So if they are, and I would buy the book someday in the future, I’d order measuring cups with it. 😉 )
    Thanks and thanks for sharing!

Hi Musketnuss! Well, guess what, the measurements are in……………………. GRAMS ! So you should be OK! I assume there’s just one version of the book 🙂

San Smith, isn’t it the cutest idea! I guess you just need some stencils and you can do it with any cute animal shape.

I have this book and love it. The pictures are beautiful.

The raspberry cheesecake brownies are amazing and people are always asking me to make them for them! They’re darn easy too.

You can buy it here for five measly pounds! Bargain.

The hummingbird bakery is amazing. I went there in October 2009,it was Saturday morning and the Portobello road markets were really busy- the line to get in was way down the street and I had to wait 20 minutes. I had the red velvet cupcake which was decorated with buttercream frosting and had a beautiful marzipan rose on top.
