Love for Japan

Pic credit – It Will Stop Raining. You can buy three of Ai’s gorgeous photos here. Money raised goes toward helping Japan’s recovery.

It’s hard to imagine that the last time I posted was before the earthquake and tsunami hit Japan, so much has changed since then. The country has been constantly in my thoughts since March 11. The scale of the disaster is so overwhelming, in lives lost and damage caused, but also in the emotional impact it has had, and will continue to have, on the entire Japanese nation. I am in awe of the courage of those living with aftershocks every day, who have to be tested for radiation poisoning, who have lost relatives or friends, those trying to contain the pressure in the nuclear reactors and the 360,000 left homeless.

A couple of small ways to help:

Hello Sandwich is donating sales from her gift wrapping zine to Red Cross.

Skye Hohmann and Ai from it will stop raining are donating sales from their beautiful photographs of Japan to Red Cross.

i bought ebony’s zine yesterday and feel kind of guilty to have got something so cool.
i also listed a couple of things on my blog too – eloise rapp is selling some postcards too.
and *insert shameless plug here* i’m donating some money from my teapot sales too.
it all just feels so surreal. it’s so easy to move on with life here, it’s crazy to think that a whole country is in disarray.
