Creme de la creme caramel

How could anyone say no to these teeny tiny, adorably wobbly-looking creme caramel chocolates? As a creme caramel addict, and sucker for cute packaging, there was no way I was leaving them on the shelf (of Miracle supermarket). In the top right corner it says ‘smooth pudding choco’.

Oops, I forgot how everything is individually packaged in Japan! When you live there you can recycle all this plastic packaging, thanks to their clever recycling laws.

Eat them or just look at them? I was happy admiring their cuteness.

The yellow ‘creme’ part is custard flavoured white chocolate. The ‘caramel’ topping is caramel flavoured milk chocolate and the centre is vanilla bean custard cream. As for their likeness to creme caramel, the flavours were definitely there! The creamy, smooth texture of pudding? Not so much. There’s still work to be done for Japan’s candy makers.

They are indeed very cute to look at! I guess they are more cute than they are tasty?
