Enjoy your crunky time

Crunky is probably one of the best Japanese chocolates ever. Not just because of its name, but because of its crispy, crunchy, toasted malty-puffy texture (like Nestle Crunch) and yum flavours (like Happy Strawberry or Green Tea Matcha Shake). I tried this Okinawa Black Sugar Crunky just before I left Osaka and it was so good, I was tempted to buy a whole box of it and set up my own online candy store. Check out this Crunky TV commercial, starring J-Pop idol Kame. PS, I’ve seen the green tea Crunky at a Japanese grocery store in Sydney (near Woolworths Town Hall, take the ‘pitt st exit’ from the ground level).

WOW! a friend of yours just told me about your blog. I love your discoveries. I am going to Japan in October – your blog has made me even more exited. Should i go to Craft World at Namba Parks? Is it one of a kind experience?

Hi Tara! You should definitely go to Craft World if you go to Osaka. Also go to the pretty macaroon store on the ground level of the 0101 Marui shopping mall, Namba. And if you wanna get the best candy, i recommend checking out lots of different convenience stores coz they all have different stock. so try lawson + family mart + sunkus + 7-11 + ampm, and so on! make sure you go to the cake levels of department stores, they have gorgeous, parisian-style cakes and pastries. (usually found on the bottom level of department stores) and most bakeries usually do a few special treats like animal shaped buns, so kawaii!

K, oh my gosh, do you think i should? lol, one time a girl asked if i had paypal because she wanted me to send her some of the hello kitty milk teas (in milk cartons). there’s definitely a market for it, i know some people have them set up on eBay. that japanese/korean shop near woolworths has lots and lots of japanese candy and pocky, it’s awesome, maybe about $3-$5 per item tho. Just last week i saw they had the sports drink kitkat and the cherry kitkat and one other kitkat i can’t remember.
