Yessssssssss it’s finally the long weekend, and This Is Not Art festival in Newcastle! If you’re nearby, come to the zine fair this Sunday!!!! I just finished making my first ever zine waku waku (Japanese onomatopoeia for ‘thrilled or excited’), and will hopefully have it stapled and folded in time for Sunday. It includes a Tokyo shopping guide, where to find the best toys in Osaka, how to get a job in the snow in Nagano, a hello kitty quiz, working for an eikaiwa Vs working as an ALT, the best pop culture from Kansai and how to make your own okonomiyaki. You’ll also be able to pick up a copy of the super kawaii lovegeek zine with hand-drawn zakka covers and starring video and print artists from Japan and the super creative beef knuckles zine, full of rad comics and short stories. Lovegeek, aka Mads, is even bringing her Japanese stamp collection and stamp pads for some make-your-own-postcard action! There’ll also be hundreds of other zines, artworks and handmade craft goodies to check out!!!
